Turkish pillow covers

Last year when I was in Turkey I bought these very pretty pillow covers. They make great accents for a living room or on a toss pillow on the bed. The colours are nice and vibrant and I love the mixed patterns.

Miniture tagines

I would love to try Morcoccan tagine
cooking. Not sure if it's really as
complicated as it seems or rather looks
but it might be cool.
Anyways I have these two miniture tagines
that are decorative pieces for the kitchen.
These were too cute and hard to resist. Even better
I got them for about $2.00 for both. It's great what
you come across.

Sklo crystal vase from Prague

I found this Czech glass vase from
Sklo at a shop that sold crystal in
Prague. This is the vase that I originally
wanted but when I went back they only had
the blue one. I got that one instead. It's
cute too; now I have to figure out where to
place it. There is such beautiful crystal to be found
in the Czech Republic.

Spanish things

In summer 2010 I went to Madrid, Spain and
one of the main things I really wanted to collect
were fans and those fabulous bullfighting posters.
I managed to pick up a few of those touristy type fans
and got a really nice one from a department store
from my friend Daly. She loves it.
For this theme I settled for fans, posters/cards and small
castanets.
These bullfighting posters and cards are cool. Did not
want anything too over the top so I kept it to just one.
Maybe this would be cool in the kitchen. Hmmm.

Parisian Vogue Covers

You know I really love Paris and the French have
the best of Vogue magazine. These classic
covers would go great on the wall. I managed to buy
a classic card (the green suit). I don't have the
rest of these but they would be so sweet!

Parisian fashion sketches.

I took a special trip back to Paris just to get
these cards. They are great for decorating.
They are couture sketches that I found at a
shop near the Louvre. Not sure whether to put
these on easels or on the walls--and what room
to be exact!

So many bowls

These little bowls I found in Istanbul
are really sweet. The best thing is you
can get so many of them in different
colours for quite cheap. They are not the
most beautiful or different but they do
make cute little accent pieces.
I need to find some small ones like these from
Morocco and Egypt.

So far so good--still need more.

Not that these pics are exactly brilliant but
I need to keep up with some things so far.
I love the glass pieces.

Decorating with international flare

As I love international culture I am really keen to decorate with an exotic international flare but have limited everything to Middle Eastern/French/Spanish/Indian and African cultures. I have collected so many things and need to keep track of where they should go. Some things are here and some were left behind in England.
I love the many vibrant colours of the places mentioned so I am always on the look out in my travels for anything that looks like it belongs.
So far I have collected a few things from Turkey, France, Spain, Morocco, Kenya, Tanzania, Czech Republic, Italy and a few other places.
I've collected tiles from Toledo, colourful decorative mini accent bowls in Istnabul, fabrics in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi, crystal in Prague and fashion plates in Paris. This has been so much fun!

Apartment hunting

This page is dedicated to apartment hunting. Well I should be for now but have put it off as I am not yet certain of what's coming up in the next few months.
I really hope to return to England for a few months and when I return get the apartment and settle down with life in the US of A.
So far of course my only interests have been Dallas or San Antonio. Would love to go to NYC or San Francisco but that could only take a marriage to a very rich man. In the mean time I will make due with the South for a bit longer.
